DOC WALKER “COMING
HOME” TO PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE

The pride of Portage La Prairie, Man.
and JUNO winning country-rock trio, Doc
Walker, open the region’s newest
recreational venue,
PCU Centre, on April 3,
2010 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on-sale on
Monday, February 1 at 10:00 a.m., with
ticket prices starting at $37.50 and limited
rush-seating available.
“Without the support from our hometown of
Portage La Prairie, we would not have the
opportunity to share our music with our fans
across Canada and abroad,” said Chris
Thorsteinson, Doc Walker. “We are honoured
to come home and play for our community and
for the fans that have supported us for over
10 years.”
For the first time in over two years, fresh
from their international Australian tour,
Doc Walker head home to Portage La Prairie,
Man. for “Doc Walker – Coming Home.” The
concert features the award-winning band with
special appearances from Canadian country
music artists Shane Yellowbird and Deric
Ruttan. For a unique fan experience,
Yellowbird and Ruttan will join Doc Walker
on-stage to perform a selection of Doc
Walker’s biggest hits. Tickets can be

(11-2nd Street, N.E., Portage la Prairie),

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony on
February 27, 2010, the PCU Centre will host
a series of grand opening celebrations. “Doc
Walker – Coming Home” is the PCU Centre’s
inaugural concert event. The PCU Centre is
located at 245 Royal Road South, Portage la
Prairie, Man.. The facility will be the
heart of Portage La Prairie, providing the
community with a state of the art
recreational centre. The PCU Centre boasts
an arena, atrium, wellness centre and
aquatics centre. The grand opening
celebrations are in partnership with Portage
Regional Recreation Authority Inc. (PRRA)
and the Glesby Centre.
Chris Thorsteinson, Murray Pulver and Dave
Wasyliw (Doc Walker) are Manitoba natives
whose last album, Beautiful Life, produced
three top-10 country radio singles and hit
No. 3 on the Canadian Country Sales Chart.
Doc Walker won six Canadian Country Music
Association Awards in 2008 and won the 2009
JUNO Award for Country Recording of the
Year. Their latest release, GO, has produced
